Paws in Distress exists to support stray dogs and cats through daily feeding, veterinary care, medication, rescue coordination and public support.
Nilani Vaas founded Paws in Distress to respond to the daily needs of stray animals in and around Mount Lavinia, Sri Lanka. The work is personal, practical and ongoing: feeding animals, arranging care for sick or injured dogs and cats, paying for medication and helping animals through recovery.
Public support is needed because animal-welfare work has recurring costs. Food, veterinary visits, transport, medication and surgeries all require dependable funding.
